Massage in Hanoi: a first-visit booking guide from AMARE

AMARE • ENGLISH VISITOR GUIDE

A massage menu can look straightforward until you try to book: full-body or feet, a shorter session or a longer one, gentle pressure or a firmer style? For a first visit in Hanoi, it helps to decide what you want from the appointment before choosing a treatment name. This guide is published by AMARE and focuses on planning a comfortable visit—not diagnosing pain or promising a medical result.

1. Describe your goal before choosing a service

Start with one sentence: “I want a quiet full-body session,” “I would prefer attention to my feet,” or “I want to discuss a neck-and-shoulder option.” A specific preference gives reception more useful information than asking for the “strongest” or “best” massage. You can also say which areas you do not want included.

The AMARE service page lists full-body therapy, Thai-style full-body therapy, foot therapy, and head–neck–shoulder/upper-back therapy. These are different menu choices, not interchangeable promises. Ask which option is available at your chosen branch and what it includes on the day you intend to visit.

2. Choose time and pressure separately

The service page lists common treatment lengths of 50, 70 and 100 minutes. A longer appointment does not mean you must accept firmer pressure, and a shorter one does not guarantee a particular body area will be covered. Confirm the actual treatment time, any consultation or changing time, and the complete price before reserving.

If this is your first massage, describe pressure in plain language rather than relying on a treatment label. Useful phrases are:

  • “I prefer light pressure to begin with.”
  • “Please use less pressure on that area.”
  • “I do not want stretching today.”
  • “Please stop; this does not feel comfortable.”

You do not need to wait until the end of a session to communicate. A treatment description is not a substitute for discussing your preferences with the technician.

3. Check what the quoted price actually covers

Before payment, ask whether the amount is for massage alone or a package that also includes other facilities. Check whether the duration you selected is included, whether a promotion has conditions, and whether any optional item costs extra. Do not assume that Onsen or Jjimjilbang admission is included just because the services are offered at the same wellness center.

Use the official AMARE spa therapy menu as the starting point for service selection. Follow its current pricing links and confirm your branch’s quote rather than relying on a screenshot or a price copied into an older social post.

4. Plan privacy and a two-person visit explicitly

If privacy matters to you, ask about the room arrangement, changing process, and what clothing or covering is provided. For two visitors, specify whether you want the same start time and whether sharing a room is essential. Two appointments at the same branch do not automatically mean a private couples room or simultaneous availability.

A practical booking request is: “We are two first-time visitors. We would like [service] on [date] around [time], with [duration] and [pressure preference]. Could you confirm the room arrangement, availability and total price before we book?” This is a question template, not a claim that every arrangement is offered.

5. Choose the branch before finalizing your journey

AMARE lists two Hanoi locations: Thang Long Number One, 3rd Floor, Building B, 289 Khuat Duy Tien; and Times City, TL13, Basement 1, Times City Shopping Center. Decide which is more convenient for your route, then confirm service availability at that location. The published spa timetable differs from the general center opening hours, so check the treatment start time rather than assuming reception hours apply to every service.

Allow room in your schedule for finding the entrance, changing, and leaving without rushing into your next reservation. If you also want bathing or sauna facilities, ask reception about a suitable visit plan instead of treating a long list of activities as something you must complete.

Before you confirm: a compact checklist

  • Correct branch, date and agreed arrival time.
  • Exact service name and treatment duration.
  • Pressure preferences and areas you want excluded.
  • Room/privacy arrangement and two-person availability, if relevant.
  • Total price, inclusions and promotion conditions.
  • How to amend or cancel the booking.

Massage at AMARE is presented as a wellness and relaxation service, not a substitute for medical care. If you are seeking help for back pain or another health concern, discuss suitability with an appropriate clinician rather than selecting a service solely from a search keyword.
